FAQ

How did you come up with your name?

So long story short the WAK part of my name comes from when I was setting up my account for PlayStation 3 and all the info that I had to plug into making an account frustrated me so when it came to picking a name the only think I could think about was that the process was whack. So I shortened it to WAK the 4863 is actually from an old nick-name that a friend gave me as a teen. I have short stubby thumbs and they well kinda look like toes. So he would call me Toe. 4863 on a telephone spells 4Toe. So technically wak4863 translates to Whack For Toe.

why choose youtube to stream?

I chose to stream to YouTube over other platforms that cater more to the streaming side of content creation, because well I wanted to keep it all in one place. Easy to find and uniform for everyone. My livestreams are available for people to watch whenever they happen upon them. Unlike other platforms that don’t allow for long term storage of streams. This way if your schedule and my schedule don’t match up, it’s OK because you can literally catch it anytime. Like right now!

why wak nation ?

So there have been many attempts to name the community that follows my content. You can imagine that some of the suggestions were not so safe for work. An example would be wakkers. I chose to stick with Wak Nation because it is well for one not dirty sounding, and for two it symbolizes unity in the group. I believe that groups have strength together if they can be united. Wak Nation is a family of gamers that don’t need to prove anything to one another. We are gamers first, united by a common love for digital arts and our differences matter little in comparison to our similarities.

What is your biggest inspiration ?

I love helping and teaching people things, though that isn’t my biggest inspiration. It’s taken some time to find what I really find to be the most rewarding thing on YouTube. When I started I just thought it was fun to make and upload videos. Now I crave hearing from the amazing people that watch my content, both new and returning viewers bring some of the most amazing Interactions. The comments that I receive on my videos are what keep me going, Whether it is a pat on the back for the video, or a moment where someone learned something new and shares gratitude, to someone even teaching me something about a game that I had overlooked or missed is awesome. I have amassed more gaming knowledge from comments then I think I would ever be able to by just playing. We all think and look at things differently and hearing your experience really spices up my gaming experience.

what kind of content do you create?

I kind of consider myself a jack of all trades or at least and amateur of all trades. There isn’t anything that I wouldn’t try to create. It’s fun and exciting to create something and even more fun when I see the reactions to what I have created. However I do excel in Gameplay Guides, Tips, and Tricks. With an occasional Top Ten thrown in the mix.

what platform did you start on?

I started gaming on the original Nintendo as a kid. We didn’t have any gaming systems in the house when I was growing up. So gaming for me was always a social experience. Head over to a friends and try to beat Mario Bros, Faster or Better this time. The first system that I owned was a PlayStation Mini. I bought it and a bunch of games from a friend and I was hooked at least for a time. I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for the Resident Evil series or games like Parasite Eve 2. I probably would have stopped gaming in my late teens. Those game brought just enough realism to gaming to keep me hooked. Fast forward to my discovery of the God of War. That series is what kept me gaming as an adult. I’m excited to see what the future of gaming has planned and what journey we can go on next.
